Allan Thomas Jarvis
Stadium Life member and Volunteer for many years, Taieri Bowling Club member,  Ex-Wakari Bowling Club, member, retired New Zealand Railwayman.
Passed away Saturday 4 July 2015.
Funeral Notice from Campbell and Sons states the following:
Passed away peacefully with family beside him on Saturday July 4, 2015 at Dunedin Hospital, loved husband of Dorothy who went to sort things out for him, in advance, three years ago, Dad to Kevin, Glenda, Brent, and Craig.  Granddad to Amy, Joshua, Jodie, Jonah, Quin, Zebbie and last but not least, Greta, father-in-law to Alison, Melissa, Yvonne, and Kristina.  Dad had cancer and got the bad news on Friday that time was tight and he was unlikely to get home...He asked if he could go home and watch the Highlanders one last time win the Final, and then return, but it wasn't possible. "Oh well...I'm buggered then," was his matter of fact reply.  And 24 hours later he quietly slipped away.  As determined as ever to do things his way...no fluffing around with it attitude.  Dad didn't want a fuss, but as a family, we will make sure we enjoy his day to to celbrate a charcter who was a quiet achiever and the head of our family.  Not sure about God needing anyone to organise the bowls tournament up there Pop... but you are the man if he does!! Thanks again to Dr John Heydon and his team...great support to Dad with empathy and a caring heart.  Very much appreciated.  And the crew from Wards 3B and 8A, Dunedin Hospital.
A service will be held at Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel, Wednesday July 8, at 3pm., followed by a private cremation.  We welcome your chance to tell a story of Pop.  Messages to 67B Forfar Street, Mosgiel 9024.  Donations to the hospice, please in lieu of flowers.
